The 15-year old forward is the top Western Manitoba prosect for the Western Hockey League Bantam Draft, which will be conducted Thursday in Calgary.
Kaspick made the rare jump to the AAA Midget ranks as an underage player this past season and scoring 38 points in 44 games with the Brandon Wheat Kings while adding seven points in seven playoff contests.
"Playing midget, you play at a pretty high level of hockey and it's a pretty high level of practicing and I think it played a big role in my improvement this year," said the 5-foot-11, 183 pound Kaspick this week, "I think when scouts see it, they know that you're playing against the older and bigger guys and I think they'll take that into account, for sure."
Kaspick is projected to be a late first or early second round pick in Thursday's draft, which might make him a prime candidate to be selected by his hometown Wheat Kings.
Brandon holds the #17 or #25 picks in the draft along with the fourth overall selection.
"No real expectations," said Kaspick, "It's out of hands at this point so I'll just enjoy the day, enjoy the experience and hope it goes well."
Kaspick may not have the high-end skills of top forwards Tyler Benson, Sam Steele, Nolan Patrick and Brett Howden but he feels he does bring a lot to the ice.
"I think work ethic, smarts and strong on the puck and strong in the corner," said Kaspick, "Just playing a hard game at both ends of the ice."
Other players considered to be top prospects from the Western Manitoba area include Ty Lewis of the Brandon Bantam Wheat Kings, Braden Billarney and Tristen Cross from the Southwest Cougars and Morgan Geekie from the Yellowhead Chiefs.
