Notes
- after a scary post-game incident on Wednesday, Jayce Hawryluk will take warmup tonight for the Brandon Wheat Kings and is expected to play in Game Four. Hawryluk became lightheaded and had trouble catching his breath after Brandon's Game Three win and spent the night in the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Medical officials ran a battery of tests on him but, obviously, failed to find anything that caused them great concern.
- Tyler Coulter and Hawryluk are listed as ?'s for the Wheat Kings. Kord Pankewicz, Braylon Shmyr and Brett Kitt will be the other Brandon scratches.
- The feeling over the last 44 hours from Brandon's side is that they were fortunate to have won Game Three Wednesday because they don't feel they played that well. Certainly, the feeling is they have a lot more to give in Game Four tonight.
- Daniel Wapple makes his second straight start in goal for the Pats. Wapple appeared very uncomfortable in Regina's Game Three loss as he made his first start in three weeks after suffering what is reported to be an ankle injury on March 5th, and often appeared to be putting weight on only one leg. Be interesting to see if a couple of more days will allow him to move with a little more freedom.
- Brandon Wheat Kings' prospect T.J. Brown and the Red Deer Optimist Chiefs won the Alberta Midget Hockey League title last night, beating Kale Clague and the Lloydminster Bobcats 4-0 to take the Best-of-Five series 3-1. Brown had two points, both assists, in 11 playoff games with the Chiefs while Clague had two goals and 13 points in 12 playoff games with Lloydminster. No, I don't know if the Wheat Kings plan to bring Clague in for the rest of the post-season.
