Ryan Pulock has been given the green light to return to the lineup after missing six games with a facial injury and practiced fully with the team on Wednesday.
"It's probably one of the most exciting days I've had in a while was today," said Pulock after Wednesday's practice, "My first year I missed a few but not for injury reasons and I think I missed one last year with an injury. It was tough sitting out with a injury that long."
The fortunate thing for the 18-year old Grandview product was that because of the nature of the injury, he was able to skate regularly with the team which should help to reduce any possible rust going into this weekend's games.
"I've stayed skating pretty much the whole time, since I've been hurt, and I don't feel like I've lost anything," said Pulock, "Practice is obviously different than a game but I'm really looking forward to Friday."
Despite missing the last three weeks, Pulock is still fourth among defencemen in scoring in the WHL with nine goals and 25 points but the Wheat Kings have gone 0-5-0-1 in his absence.
"The biggest thing right now is consistency and work ethic," said Pulock, "Watching from up top, it seems like we'll bring work ethic to part of our games and we'll stick with teams or we'll even dominate teams at times. And then you can just tell when we let off and it just all blows away and I think we've got to work on keeping that consistent.
Pulock's return and the expected return of forward Jens Meilleur reduces Brandon's injury list to three players in forwards Tyrel Seaman, Tim McGauley and Jack Palmer.
Meilleur was given the day off from practice Wednesday after going through the full session with the team on Tuesday.
