Wheat Kings 2013-2014 Schedule Released

  The Brandon Wheat Kings will open their 2013-2014 Western Hockey League regular season with a home-and-home series against the Moose Jaw Warriors.

  Brandon will play their home opener against the Warriors on Saturday, Septemebr 21st -- 24 hours after visiting Moose Jaw to open the regular season.
  The Wheat Kings will play more than half of their 36 homes games during four lengthy home stand, including five straight at home from October 2-12 and January 4-17.
  Other interesting notes about the Wheat Kings' schedule include:

- having 25 weekend games (13 on Friday, 12 on Saturday)

- first game against former goaltender Corbin Boes is in Lethbridge on November 3rd

- first game against former Wheat King Geordie Maguire and Regina Pats is Thanksgiving Day in Regina

- former Wheat King Ayrton Nikkel and the Everett Silvertips host the Wheat Kings on November 1st as part of Brandon's six-game West Coast road trip

- Brandon's annual Remembrance Day game is against Lethbridge on November 11th

- the first games for the Wheat Kings against former coach Cory Clouston and the Prince Albert Raiders is a doubleheader in P.A. on September 27-28.
