  Former Brandon Wheat King Nick Buonassisi has committed to the UBC Thunderbirds men's hockey team.

  Last season, his only one with Brandon, Buonassisi scored 14 goals and 34 points in 69 games.

  After completing his WHL career, the 20-year-old went on to play three playoff games with the Central Hockey League's Quad City Mallards.

  Buonassisi played ive years in the WHL with Prince George, Lethbridge, and Brandon and scored 64 goals and adding 107 assists for 171 career points in 339 regular season games.


  Meantime, former Wheat King Brent Raedeke is headed overseas.

  He's signed a two-year contract with the Iserlohn Roosters of the German Elite League after spending the past three seasons in the Detroit Red Wings' farm system.

  Last season, Raedeke had three goals and six assists in 38 games with the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins and one goal in two games with the ECHL's Toledo Walleye last season.
