Notes
- F Rihards Bukarts (upper body) misses his second straight game for Brandon while Kord Pankewicz (healthy) and Braylon Shmyr (healthy) are the Wheat Kings' other scratches tonight.
- The Wheat Kings are 25-3-0-0 this season when allowing three or fewer goals but, interestingly enough, two of those three losses have come in the last week. Brandon fell 3-2 on home-ice to Medicine Hat last Wednesday and dropped a 3-0 decision in Swift Current on Sunday night.
- Richard Nejezchleb (27) and Rihards Bukarts (21) are the first imports to hit 20+ plus goals in the same season with the Wheat Kings since the CHL Import Draft began. Nejezchleb also enters tonight's game one goal shy of Brandon's 'club record' for goals by an import player, 28, set by Juraj Simek in 2006-2007.
- Speaking of records, Brandon captain Ryan Pulock enters tonight's game with 193 career points, seven points shy of the 200 plateau. Only four defencemen in Wheat Kings' history have hit 200 career points -- Brad McCrimmon (279), Cam Plante (248), Burke Henry (207) and Justin Kurtz (200).
- Medicine Hat returns home after a successful East Division road trip, during which they were 3-1-0-0 including last Wednesday's 3-2 win in Brandon. The Tigers, however, have been a just above .500 team so far in the second half, going 11-9-0-0 since the Christmas break. By comparison, Brandon is 10-7-2-1 in 20 games in the second half.
