Oil Kings Triple Wheat Kings

Eric Roy had one of Brandon's goals on Friday night
Dylan Wruck had a goal and two assists to pace the Edmonton Oil Kings to a 6-2 victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings on Friday night.

Curtis Lazar scored twice for Edmonton as they stretched their winning streak to 11 games and ended Brandon's two-game win streak.

Edmonton held a trio of two-goal leads before finally putting the game with two goals late in the third period.

Brandon trailed 4-2 after 40 minutes and coach Dwayne Gylywoychuk says they had trouble getting their offence going in the third period.

"We had to find some way to get one," said Gylywoychuk on CKLQ's post-game show, "We had to put a lot of pucks on net, we had to go to the hard areas to find a bouncy goal or a greasy goal to get us kickstarted and get us going and we just never got that."

Ryan Pulock and Eric Roy scored the goals for Brandon while Curtis Honey stopped 38 shots in the Wheat Kings' net.

"They're a good team, they thrive on turnovers.  You  just have to keep it simple every day, that's what they've been doing throughout the game," added Brandon defenceman Eric Roy  It's an unfortunate result for us."

Brandon continues their home stand by hosting the Regina Pats Saturday night (7:35 p.m., Westman Communications Group Place).
