Notes
- According to my sources, defenceman Rene Hunter has opted to leave the Wheat Kings. The 19-year old Hunter was in his third season with Brandon, having tallied four goals and 28 points in 153 career games.
- Brandon scratches tonight are D Riley Van Horne (healthy), F Tyrel Seaman (suspected concussion), F Tim McGauley (suspected concussion) and F Jack Palmer (upper body).
- As expected, the Wheat Kings will get both D Ryan Pulock and F Jens Meilleur back in their lineup tonight. The duo will not only help fill what was a depleted lineup but they also bring leadership (Pulock is Brandon's captain, Meilleur an alternate captain) and a certain amount work ethic with them.
- The Chiefs are rolling through the WHL's East Division so far, going 4-and-0 while outscoring teams 24-12. Spokane concludes their swing through the East Division Saturday night in Moose Jaw.
- A good omen? Spokane hasn't won in Brandon since November 10, 2000 - a streak of five straight losses in the Wheat City.
