Notes
- Nick Buonassisi is the odd man out in the Wheat Kings' 20-year old situation tonight, ending his consecutive games streak at 173 games. He hadn't sat out a game since October 6, 2010.
- Other Brandon scratches tonight including affiliate player Tyler Coulter (healthy) along with F Alessio Bertaggia (Swiss Jr. Team), F Jayce Hawryluk (Team West, U17), F John Quenneville (Team Pacific, U17) and F Tyrel Seaman (concussion).
- Curtis Honey starts in goal for the Wheat Kings tonight. Honey stopped 47 of 51 shots in his last two starts, both of them victories.
- Couple of interesting stats: a) the Wheat Kings are 9-1-0-0 this season when scoring four or more goals and b) Red Deer is 17-7-2-1 in games decided by two goals or less.
- The Rebels are without G Patrick Bartosak, who is playing with the Czech Republic of the World Junior Hockey Championship. Bolton Pouliot is 3-2 with a 2.76 GAA and .927 SPCT in five starts since Bartosak left the team oin December 10th.
