The Brandon Wheat Kings' second round pick in the 2013 Bantam Draft agreed to a standard WHL player agreement last week along with first round picks Nolan Patrick and Kale Clague.
"I weighed all my options, and I knew Brandon was the spot I wanted to be in," said Kaspick this week, "I just wanted to take that next step in moving forward with the organization, and it's even part that I can do it alongside Nolan and Kale."
Kaspick just returned from the All-Canadians Mentorship Camp in Mississauga, where he, Patrick and Clague were among the 42 bantam-aged players from across Canada to pick up some tips from the pro's, on and off the ice.
"I actually hung out with those two guys a lot. We knew each other from Spring Camp and I've known Nolan before that,' said Kaspick, "They're both really good guys and its nice that we're all picked by the same team so that we can see each other often and, hopefully, play together."
Gary Roberts, Jason Spezza, Claude Giroux, Jeff Skinner, Martin Biron and former Wheat King Brayden Schenn were among the NHLers who gave some insight to the players in attendance.
"A lot of NHL players there, a lot of people who are tops in their field like sports psychology and nutrition," added Kaspick, "I really got a lot of feedback from people like that and it was a really fun experience."
The 15-year old Kampick is right back into another camp.
He'll take part in Hockey Manitoba's Under-16 Camp this weekend in Winnipeg in hopes of securing a spot on Manitoba's team that'll play in the Western Canada Challenge Cup in Calgary this fall.
Nolan Patrick and fellow 2013 Wheat Kings' draft picks Braden Billaney, Ben Dalke, Linden McCorrister, Branden Storey, Ty Lewis and Dylan Thiessen will also be at the camp.
