Hawryluk, Canada into Semifinals

  Canada's Under-18 team picked up a win Wednesday at the Memorial of Ivan Hlinka Tournament, downing Switzerland 4-3 in a shootout.

  Brandon Wheat Kings' forward and Roblin product Jayce Hawryluk is a member of the Canadian team and is pointless in three games at the tournament.

  Canada placed first in Pool A with one win, one shootout win and one loss.

  They'll play Russia in Friday's semifinals.

  Wheat Kings' captain Ryan Pulock had an assist to help Canada's national junior team to a 5-3 win over Finland to open an exhibition tournament in Lake Placid, New York.

  Sam Reinhart of the Kootenay Ice and Hunter Shinkaruk of the Medicine Hat Tigers were two of the goal scorers for Canada.

  Canada will face Sweden Thursday and then take on the United States on Saturday.

  Pulock is expected to be in Canada's lineup again on Thursday.

  The Portland Winterhawks are going to share their 2012-13 WHL Championship with their season-ticket holders.

  The team revealed Wednesday that every 2013-14 season-ticket holder will be presented with a wearable championship ring that will be an exact replica of the ring that will be given to the players and coaches.

  The presentations to fans will made at a game during the upcoming season.
