Notes
- goaltender Curtis Honey sits for the second straight game and the 16th time in the last 18 contests. Honey was listed as being out with 'illness' Tuesday but missing Wednesday and Thursday's practices and tonight's game makes my 'Spider Sense' tingle (meaning, it may be some type of injury).
- the Wheat Kings are dressing 21 players for warmup, making a decision after on their defence core. Eric Roy missed Tuesday's win over Kamloops and practice Wednesday and Thursday with a 'lower-body injury.'
**UPDATE: Eric Roy (lower body) was scratched for the second straight game.
- F Richard Nejezchleb (Czech Republic Jr. Team) and F Braylon Shmyr (healthy) are Brandon's other scratches for tonight's contest.
- the Rockets enter tonight's game on an eight-game winning streak, a nine-game road winning streak and an overall record of 24-3-0-2, leading the WHL standings with 50 points. Kelowna starts goaltender Jackson Whistle, son of former Brandon University Bobcat Dave Whistle and nephew to Brandon-West MLA Reg Helwer.
- Kelowna defenceman Damon Severson is out tonight for the Rockets as he and the rest of the hopefuls are at the Canadian Junior Team Selection Camp. Other Kelowna players to watch tonight including Winnipeg Jets' draft pick Ryan Olsen, who has 13 goals and 27 points in 28 games this season. Winnipeg products Madison Bowey (11 G, 14 A in 29 GP) and Zach Franko (7 G, 15 A in 29 GP) are also key contributors for the Rockets.
