Nejezchleb Given Chance for 2014 WJHC

Richard Nejezchleb
Late Wednesday afternoon, it was revealed that Brandon Wheat Kings' forward Richard Nejezchleb would have a chance to play for the Czech Republic at the 2014 World Junior Hockey Championship.

While a release from the team stated he would be playing, Nejezchleb told me prior to Wednesday's game that he'll attend the selection camp in the Czech Republic with an eye toward earning a spot on the WJHC roster.

According to a roster I found online, the Czech's Selection Camp includes 15 forwards, meaning two would have to be released prior to the start of the World Junior Hockey Championship.

Goaltender Marek Langhamer of the Medicine Hat Tigers, defencemen David Nemecek of the Saskatoon Blades and Michal Plutnar of the Tri-City Americans and forward Dominek Volek of the Red Deer Rebels were also invited to the camp.

Here's an interview I did with Nejezchleb about the opportunity that aired during our pre-game show on CKLQ...
