Christopher Tai |
The Brandon Wheat Kings have announced that netminder Christopher Tai has been dealt to the Medicine Hat Tigers in exchange for a conditional pick in the 2015 Western Hockey League bantam draft.
The 18-year old Delta B.C. native was acquired from Lethbridge two weeks ago to serve as a backup to rookie Jordan Papirny while veteran Curtis Honey was out of action with an upper body injury.
Honey, who has missed the past fourteen games, has rejoined the WHL club and will be dressed for this weekend's games against Swift Current and Moose Jaw on Friday and Saturday nights.
The move to bring Tai onto the roster is a result of Czech-born goalie Marek Langhamer leaving for the 2014 World Junior Hockey Championships next week. Tai is expected to report to the Tigers on Monday.
Tai has appeared in nine games this season - eight with the Hurricanes and one with Brandon.
