Notes
- F Jesse Gabrielle (Team West, U17), F Braylon Shmyr (Team Pacific, U17), D Kord Pankewicz (healthy) and callups Duncan Campbell (healthy) and Tanner Kaspick (healthy) are the Wheat Kings' scratches tonight.
- The Wheat Kings had a number of players performing well heading into the Christmas break, but Colton Waltz and Rene Hunter were more than pulling their weight, especially in the absence of Eric Roy for the final three games of the first half. Waltz has four points (1 G, 3 A) and is +6 in the last five games while Hunter has seven points (1 G, 6 A) and is +8 in the last eight contests.
- On the other side of the coin, Ryan Pulock has struggled to produce offensively as of late, registering just one assist in the last six games while Eric Roy had one goal and a -10 rating in his final four games before being injured.
- The Wheat Kings' key to success this season appears to be allowing three or fewer goals. Brandon is 16-1-0-0 when they allow three goals or less this season, 2-13-3-0 when allowing four or more goals.
- Morgan Klinchuk (lower body) misses his 11th straight game for the Pats while Regina does welcome D Kyle Burroughs (concussion, missed last seven games) and former Wheat King F Geordie Maguire (upper body, missed last five games) back into their lineup tonight.
