Notes
- The Wheat Kings will scratch D Ryan Pulock (wrist), F Richard Nejezchleb (hand/thumb), F Tyrel Seaman (concussion) and F John Quenneville (groin). F Tyler Coulter, 16, is in Brandon's lineup for the second time as an AP this season.
- Seaman was back in Brandon this week after spending most of the last six weeks back home in Choiceland, Saskatchewan. The general feeling I got from Seaman this week is that he's highly unlikely to return to the Wheat Kings' lineup this season.
- Curtis Honey will start a third straight game for the first time in his Wheat Kings' career. Honey stopped 51 of 54 shots in leading Brandon back-to-back wins last weekend so there was little doubt he was going to get the call again tonight. Honey is 3-1-1 with a 2.40 GAA and .924 SPCT in five home starts this season.
- Brandon is 0-3-0-0 against Prince Albert this season, being outscored 14-2 in the process. In fact, Raiders' goaltender Luke Siemens has recorded two of his four shutouts this year in games against the Wheat Kings. Brandon was 23-7-0-2 in 32 games against Prince Albert the past five seasons before this year.
- Tonight's game and tomorrow's in Saskatoon will be a good test for the new-look Wheat Kings. Let's face it, last weekend's wins against Moose Jaw and Regina were nice, but they were also against two teams in the same neighbourhood as Brandon as far as the Eastern Conference standings were concerned. Now, they're up against a couple of the Park Avenue teams in the East so it'll be interesting to see how they stack up.
