Jesse Gabrielle practiced with the Wheat Kings on Tuesday afternoon |
15-year old forward Jesse Gabrielle has joined the team and will spend the rest of the season with the club.
The fifth round pick in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft practiced with the Wheat Kings on Tuesday afternoon.
"I expected it to be real fast and it didn't disappoint. It was a real high tempo, you're just going and going," said Gabrielle after Tuesday's practice with the Wheat Kings, "That's what I like and if that what it takes to get to the next level, that's what I'm here to do."
Originally from Moosomin, Saskatchewan, Gabrielle is now living in Eagan, Minnesota.
He played this season with the Eagan High School team, notching 15 goals and 47 points in 28 games.
"I had a good season with my team up in Minnesota," said Gabrielle, "My dream is to be here in Brandon so the quicker I get here, it's quicker step to transitioning to the WHL. It's all I want right now."
The 5-foot-11, 195 pound Gabrielle is hoping his 13-days with the Wheat Kings at the end of this season will help him in 2013-2013.
"Just coming up here, getting to practice and seeing what the lifestyle is here...its just a great honour to have them even consider me to come up here and be a part of the team," said Gabrielle, "If I can get in a game or two, that's even better but I just want to take everything I can here and, just for next year, take all that I learn here and just transition into next year a lot quicker."
