Ryan Pulock |
Pulock played his 250th career game Wednesday, and enter the weekend just four points shy of 200 for his career.
The Grandview, Manitoba product would join Brad McCrimmon, Cam Plante, Burke Henry and Justin Kurtz as the only blueliners to record 200 or more career points in a Wheat Kings' uniform.
Pulock has been consistent throughout his Brandon career, producing seasons of 42, 60 and 45 points in his first three years and scoring 18 goals and 49 points in 55 games so far in 2013-2014.
"My first few years, I was able to play with a lot of great players and I think that helped me put up some numbers," said Pulock on Thursday, "I just have to keep working on my game and it's good to be consistent that way, I'm going to just keep working on that for the rest of the year here."
Pulock also has 59 career goals, and needs to score three more times to pass Brad McCrimmon's franchise record for career goals by a defenceman.
"When you can hold a record like that, it's something pretty special. Just who has it right now makes it that much more special," said Pulock, "But, for me, I'm not going to go out there and try and change something to score a bunch of goals. I'm just going to go out there and play my game and, if I do that, hopefully they'll come."
Wheat Kings' forward Chad Robinson is also going to hit a milestone on Friday night, playing in his 250th career WHL game.
Meanwhile, the lineup shuffle could continue for the Wheat Kings when they host the Calgary Hitmen Friday (7:30 p.m., Westman Communications Group Place).
John Quenneville and Jayce Hawryluk both practiced without restrictions Thursday and are expected to return to the lineup tonight.
Quenneville has missed the last four games and Hawryluk the past three.
However, Peter Quenneville remains out and Richard Nejezchleb missed practice yesterday after leaving Wednesday's game early.
In addition, Colton Waltz will miss this weekend's games after his suspension was finalized by the WHL on Thursday.
Waltz was suspended earlier this week under supplemental discipline for an unpenalized hit on Regina's Dryden Hunt during Monday's loss to the Pats.
The final sentence is three games, meaning Waltz is eligible to return to Brandon's lineup on Wednesday.
