Notes
- F John Quenneville (upper body) and F Rihards Bukarts (upper body) are both out of the Wheat Kings' lineup tonight. The third and final Brandon scratch will be determined after warmup.
- The absence of Quenneville (47 points) and Bukarts (43 points) won't make it any easier for Brandon to create more offense, but they'll need to do exactly that. Brandon has scored two or fewer goals in four of their last five games, and has just 74 shots on goal in their last three games (all losses). Wheat Kings' assistant coach David Anning says one of their keys is getting more pucks on net, and getting into the 'hard areas' of the ice (ie: front of the net) in collecting loose pucks and rebounds.
- Jordan Papirny gets the start in goal for Brandon. The rookie has allowed three of fewer goals in 11 of his last 12 starts, with a 2.29 GAA and .921 SPCT in those 12 games.
- Brandon is in the midst of playing 15 games in 26 days, with Friday's game the 10th of those contests. Brandon is 2-5-1-1 in the first nine games of the stretch.
- The Ice include a pair of Westman products in Brandon's Landon Cross and Virden's Landon Peel. Cross has seven assists and is -3 in 44 games since joining Kootenay in an early season trade from Kamloops. Peel has three goals, 14 points and a +3 rating in 51 games.
