Notes
- Rene Hunter (upper body), Richard Nejezchleb and Jayce Hawryluk join a Wheat Kings' injury list that already included John Quenneville (upper body) and Rihards Bukarts (upper body). That means Brandon will be playing without four of their top seven scorers in Saturday's contest.
- Playing without a combined 89 goals and 186 points (the combined total for Hawryluk, Quenneville, Nejezchleb and Bukarts) won't make it any easier on a Brandon offence that has scored two or fewer goals in five of the last six games.
- One player that may be able to help the Wheat Kings' offence is Quintin Lisoway. He picked up two assists in Friday's loss and has three goals and six points in the last eight games.
- Brandon's chief rivals in the East Division go head-to-head tonight as Regina hosts Swift Current. The Pats are leading the Division by one point over the Wheat Kings and Broncos going into tonight's contest.
- Virden product and Kootenay defenceman Landon Peel will guest during the second intermission of tonight's contest. Peel has three goals, 14 points and a +3 rating in 54 games with the Ice this year. I had the unfortunate embarrassment of referring to him as 'Jeff' at one point in the interview, which is Landon's older brother. Ooops! Luckily, Landon was good humoured about my error!!
