- F Peter Quenneville (lower body) misses his eighth straight game; F Jens Meilleur (lower body) misses his third in a row; Braylon Shmyr (healthy) is the final scratch.
- The Wheat Kings have had their share of problems against some of the WHL's top teams. Brandon is 2-10-3-0 in 15 games against teams that currently have a .600 or better winning percentage. One of those two wins was the 4-3 victory over Edmonton on home-ice in early October.
- Brandon's magic # to clinch a playoff spot remains at nine (points). Any combination of the Wheat Kings collecting points (ie: 2 pts for a win; 1 pt for a OT/SO loss) and Prince Albert not gaining points (ie: regulation loss = 2 pts; OT/SO loss = 1 pt) would give Brandon a playoff spot.
- The Oil Kings are currently tied with Calgary for first-place in the WHL's Eastern Conference in a race that is likely to continue until the end of the regular season. Edmonton is on the verge of a third straight 50-win season.
- The Wheat Kings would be wide to keep an eye on Henrik Samuelsson tonight. The Phoenix Coyotes' first round pick in 2012 has eight goals and nine assists for 17 points in eight career games against Brandon.
