| Quintin Lisoway is looking to step up again in Game Three |
Peter Quenneville and Eric Roy both missed the club's regular practice Tuesday with undisclosed injuries, setting the stage for Quintin Lisoway to retain his spot alongside Tim McGauley and Richard Nejezchleb for Wednesday's tilt.
Lisoway had a pair of assists in Game Two on Sunday while playing in Quenneville's regular position on one of Brandon's scoring lines.
"I just talked with Richard and Tim quite a bit. I just said I'd put in the work and I'd help do whatever I can for that line," said Lisoway after Tuesday's practice, "I like getting the opportunity and I felt like I stepped up and helped them out."
Lisoway not only saw an increase in ice-time on Sunday, but also remained a key part of Brandon's penalty-kill unit.
The Neepawa, Manitoba product is usually paired with McGauley up front while the Wheat Kings are shorthanded, and has helped Brandon go 5-for-6 on the kill so far in the series.
"Special teams are definitely a big part of the playoffs. They can help get momentum for your team and I feel our penalty-kill has stepped up, but I feel we can be better," said Lisoway, "That's just coming with work ethic, guys just have to work."
Lisoway adds that Regina's top unit that consists of five forwards (Chandler Stephenson, Morgan Klimchuk, Boston Leier, Connor Gay and Dryden Hunt) present a unique challenge for them because they are very good at moving the puck and moving themselves around the offensive zone.
Meanwhile, Roy's possible absence would mean Kord Pankewicz would draw into Brandon's lineup for the second consecutive game.
Pankewicz made his WHL playoff debut in Game Two Sunday.
Chaff...Brandon was 4-0-0-0 against the Pats on home-ice this season and are 35-5-1-1 against Regina in regular season games at WCGP over the last ten seasons...the Wheat Kings got goals from 11 different players in the opening two games of the series on the weekend...including playoffs, Tim McGauley has 14 points (5 G, 9 A) in the last ten games while Ryan Pulock has 12 points (4 G, 8 A) in the last five contests...as of Wednesday morning, only 2,700 tickets had been sold for Game Three...the Saskatoon Blades announced Tuesday that GM Lorne Molleken and head coach Dave Struch would not be back with the team next season...Wheat Kings' prospect T.J. Brown set up the overtime winner as Red Deer downed Kale Clague and the Lloydminster Bobcats 4-3 Tuesday to take a 2-1 lead in the Alberta Midget Hockey League's Championship series. Clague had two assists and now has 13 points in 11 playoff games.
