Hawryluk 'Completely Normal, Feeling Fine'

Brandon Wheat Kings' forward Jayce Hawryluk continues to undergo medical tests to determine what may have caused him to have shortness of breath and become lightheaded shortly after Brandon's Game Three victory over the Regina Pats on Wednesday night.

Hawryluk had just finished a three goal, one assist performance and been named the game's first star when the situation arose shortly after he left the ice.

"The doctor came and looked at him and they felt that they should take him to the hospital and, basically, rule some things out as much as anything," said Brandon GM/Coach Kelly McCrimmon on Thursday afternoon.

The Roblin, Manitoba product was taken to the Brandon Regional Health Centre via ambulance, but McCrimmon says he's apparently completely normal now and feeling fine.

"We haven't been given any feedback as to how any of that has gone, other than to be told that there's no red flags and nothing alarming at this point," said McCrimmon, "We're optimistic that it's not as serious as these things sometimes can be or what you sometimes let your mind fear."

Meanwhile, the Wheat Kings practiced on Thursday afternoon as they prepare for Game Four of their Eastern Conference Quarter-Final with Regina.

"Lots of the players themselves have been on contact with Jayce today," added McCrimmon, "I think that gives them some peace of mind."

Brandon leads the Best-of-Seven series three games to none.
