Former Brandon Wheat King Brian Propp will be inducted into the Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame this summer.Propp scored 511 points in 213 games with the Wheat Kings from 1977 to 1979 and is the club's all-time leading scorer, and went on to amass over 1,000 points while playing more than 1,000 games during a 15-year NHL career.
The late Brad McCrimmon will also be inducted into the Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame on July 18, and Propp says that makes the honour even more special for him.
"I look at this year with Brad McCrimmon being one of my closest friends over the years as a special place in my heart. To be there with Kelly, his parents and everyone else I've known for a lot of years," said Propp, "That brings back a lot of great memories and just glad to be sharing the moment with Brad, even though he won't be with us."
Long-time Prince Albert Raiders head coach and general manager Terry Simpson, the 1981-82 Centennial Cup winning Raiders hockey team and the 1972 Rosetown Red Wings, the Intermediate AA champions from that year, will also be enshrined this summer.
Byron McCrimmon, Brad and Kelly's father, was playing head coach of that 1972 Rosetown team.
