Connor Rankin and Brady Brassart scored power-play goals in the middle frame for the Hitmen as they collected their 12th win in 13 games.
"The second period there, we had too many turnovers going through the neutral zone," said Brandon defenceman Colton Waltz on CKLQ's post-game show, "Ultimately, the led to one of their power-play goals and then they got another power-play goal later in the period that shifted the momentum their way."
Greg Chase also scored in the second period for Calgary, with his goal at the 5:45 mark extending the Hitmen's lead to 3-0.
Ben Thomas and Pavel Padakin also scored for Calgary with Rihards Bukarts scoring Brandon's only goal.
It came with 1:29 left in the third period.
"We had spurts where guys worked real hard but in terms of consistent effort, we got caught from behind a handful of times tonight in the neutral zone with them working harder to get back than we were working to enter the zone," said Wheat Kings' GM/Coach Kelly McCrimmon, "Those types of things are work ethic indicators."
Jordan Papirny made 35 saves in the Brandon net while Chris Driedger stopped 23 shots for Calgary.
The loss leaves Brandon seventh in the Eastern Conference, six points behind sixth-place Swift Current and four points ahead of both Red Deer and Prince Albert.

The Wheat Kings next game is Friday, when they host the Edmonton Oil Kings.
