Campbell Sent Back to Midget

Duncan Campbell
The Brandon Wheat Kings reduced their roster to 26 players Monday evening, assigned 17-year old forward Duncan Campbell to the Brandon AAA Midget Wheat Kings.

Campbell went pointless in two pre-season games for the Wheat Kings but did not see any action on the opening weekend of the Western Hockey League regular season.

Campbell's departure and the assignment of 15-year old defenceman
Kale Clague to the AMHL's Lloydminster Bobcats on Sunday leaves the Wheat Kings with 26 players on their roster -- 15 forwards, nine defencemen and two goaltenders.

That includes blueliner Ryan Pulock, who remains with the NHL's New York Islanders.

Meanwhile, the Wheat Kings were without D Rene Hunter at practice on Monday as he continues to recover from a suspected head injury sustained in Brandon's season opener in Moose Jaw on Friday.

D Taylor Green (upper body) and D Nick Walters (hand) both practiced Monday in no-contact jerseys.
