Notes:
- As expected, 15-year olds Nolan Patrick, Kale Clague and Tanner Kaspick are all in the Wheat Kings' lineup for tonight's game. Moose Jaw is also dressing Oakbank, Manitoba product Brett Howden, who was the fifth overall pick in the 2013 Bantam Draft.
- Jordan Papirny is expected to play the entire game tonight. The Wheat Kings have the luxury of being down to two netminders before the pre-season starts and GM/Coach Kelly McCrimmon told me before the game that they expect Papirny and Honey to each play two full games in the pre-season, one at home and one on the road.
- 16-year old Dakota Boutin has left the Wheat Kings and returned to play for the Moose Jaw Generals of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League. Brandon's third round pick in the 2012 Bantam Draft had eight goals and 19 points in 38 games with the Generals last season. The team is hosting the Telus Cup National Midget Championship next April.
- Boutin's departure leaves the Wheat Kings with 33 players on their pre-season roster (20 forwards, 11 defencemen and 2 goaltenders).
