Roy Headed Back to Brandon

Eric Roy
Eric Roy is on his way back to the Brandon Wheat Kings.

The 19-year old defenceman tweeted Wednesday morning that he was on his way back to Brandon.

Great experience here in Calgary, sucks I was injured, can't wait to be back. Back to Brandon to start the season with the boys!

Roy has spent the past two weeks in camp with the Calgary Flames, although he missed a chunk of their training camp with an abdominal wall strain.

Roy was a fifth round pick of the Flames in the 2013 NHL Draft.

The Wheat Kings open the regular season Friday in Moose Jaw before hosting the Warriors in their home opener on Saturday night.

Roy's return leaves only captain Ryan Pulock as Wheat Kings' players away at NHL Camps.

Pulock made his NHL pre-season debut Tuesday night, playing 17:05 in the New York Islanders 5-3 loss in Calgary.

He was the Islanders first round pick, 15th overall, in the 2013 NHL Draft.
