Jake DeBrusk was in on all four second period goals for the Broncos, scoring once and adding three assists as Swift Current extended their winning streak to six games.
"Similar to (Thursday) night in that regard where we gave up goals in a bunch in a short period of time," said Brandon GM/Coach Kelly McCrimmon on CKLQ's post-game show, "Tonight was a little different because of the penalty trouble but still the same result with the three quick goals in 4 1/2 minutes that not only took away our lead, it put us behind."
The first two of those four Swift Current goals in the second period came on the power-play, and Brandon centre Tim McGauley said on CKLQ's post-game show that they can't afford to take the number of penalties that they did.
"Discipline is a key factor, we can't be taking penalties. We just didn't have any bounce-back after it was 3-2," said McGauley, "Once it was 3-2, we just gave up and we just couldn't get back in the game and they made it 5-2 and then it was just over because we just didn't have any jump."
McGauley had three assists in the contest with Richard Nejezchleb scoring twice and Ryan Pulock also tallying for Brandon.
The Wheat Kings have now lost six of their last eight games to fall to 9-11-0-0 on the season.
Brandon returns to action Monday afternoon when they host the Lethbridge Hurricanes (2:30 p.m., Westman Communications Group Place).
