- Jordan Papirny is 6-2-0 with a 2.85 goals against average and .907 save percentage in starting eight straight games while Honey has been injured. He'll make his ninth straight start tonight.
- the Wheat Kings have been enjoying extra time so far this season. Brandon is 3-and-0 in games decided in overtime or a shootout, all by 3-2 scores. In addition to Tuesday's shootout win in Swift Current, the Wheat Kings beat the Warriors 3-2 in a shootout on October 11th and won in overtime in Moose Jaw October 16th by a 3-2 score.
- the Tigers are playing their first home game after five straight on the road, the last two of which were one-goal losses in Vancouver and Kelowna on Friday and Saturday. The Tigers had gone 8-0-1-0 in their previous nine games before those two losses and are tied with Swift Current for first-place in the Eastern Conference with 33 points (15-5-3-0 record).
- Tigers' F and Vancouver Canucks 2013 first round pick Hunter Shinkaruk has one goal and five points in six games since returning from a five-game absence due to a lower body injury. He'll play for Team WHL in next week's Subway Super Series.
