Palmer Dealt to Hometown Royals

Jack Palmer
The Brandon Wheat Kings have made their second trade in as many days, sending forward Jack Palmer to the Victoria Royals for a pair of fifth round picks in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.

Palmer had four goals and 15 points in 77 career games with the Wheat Kings including one goal and two assists in 15 games this year.

"We had been in discussions with teams on a trade of a veteran forward for a couple of weeks just based on the fact that we felt that it was important for us to get from 15 forwards to 14 forwards," said Brandon GM/Coach Kelly McCrimmon on Wednesday, "So with the addition of Peter (Quenneville) to our team, we felt that it was important for us to get the trade done that we did with Jack going to Victoria late (Tuesday) night."

The trade sends the 18-year old Palmer back to his hometown and reduces the Wheat Kings' roster to 24 players -- 15 forwards, seven defencemen and two goaltenders.
