Notes

- Tim McGauley returns to the Wheat Kings' lineup today after missing three games with an upper body injury, but D Rene Hunter (upper body), D Kord Pankewicz (upper body) and G Curtis Honey (upper body) all remain out of the lineup.  Tyler Coulter and Braylon Shmyr will be healthy scratches today.

- It hasn't been as good a road trip as the Wheat Kings would have hoped, but a win this afternoon would leave the team at .500 (9-9-0-0) through the first 18 games of the regular season, or the quarter-pole so to speak, having played 11 of those 18 games on the road.

- Today's game of the first for former Wheat King Corbin Boes against Brandon since the Wheat Kings dealt him to the Hurricanes during the WHL Bantam Draft in May.  Boes is 2-9-3 with a 4.34 GAA and .900 SPCT in 14 games with Lethbridge this season.  I talked to Corbin for a few minutes prior to today's game and will have that interview in our second intermission show.

- Manitoba won bronze at the Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup today with a 10-3 victory over Saskatchewan.  Wheat Kings' prospect Tanner Kaspick had a hat-trick for Manitoba while Nolan Patrick had six assists.  Five Wheat Kings' prospects played for Team Manitoba, and here's how they did statistically:

• Nolan Patrick - 5 G, 7 A
• Tanner Kaspick - 4 G, 2 A
• Ty Lewis - 1 G, 2 A
• Dylan Thiessen - 1 G, 1 A
• Linden McCorrister - 0 G, 1 A

- Kale Clague, T.J. Brown and Team Alberta are playing British Columbia in the gold medal game at the U16 as I write this.  Clague has three assists in three round-robin games while Brown had one goal, the overtime winner in Alberta's victory over B.C. on Saturday.
