The 18-year old netminder was acquired from Lethbridge last Thursday as insurance for the Wheat Kings while Curtis Hooney is sidelined with an upper body injury.
What happens once Honey is healthy is anyone's guess but Tai said after practice Wednesday he can only control what he does.
"I try to look at it in a positive light. That's how I am, and I'm just going to keep battling no matter what happens," said Tai, "The situation is going to play out the way it's going to play out and I have no control over it. All I can keep doing is try my hardest here."
Honey has been out since October 30 but did practice fully with the Wheat Kings on Wednesday as he inches closer to a return to the Brandon lineup.

Ivan Nalimov stopped 42 shots to lead the Russian Selects to a 3-2 win over Team WHL in Game #5 of the Subway Super Series Wednesday night in Red Deer.
Taylor Leier of the Portland Winterhawks and Griffin Reinhart of the Edmonton Oil Kings scored for Team WHL while Winnipeg Jets' draft pick Eric Comrie of the Tri-City Americans made 22 saves.
As expected, Wheat Kings' captain Ryan Pulock did not play for Team WHL in Wednesday's contest but will play in the final game of the Subway Super Series Thursday night in Lethbridge.

The Wheat Kings could be without rookie centre Ryley Lindgren when they return to action Friday night in Moose Jaw (6:30 p.m., 880 CKLQ).
Lindgren suffered an upper body injury in Saturday's loss in Cranbrook and is listed as day-to-day.
