Notes
- The Wheat Kings are looking to end a two-game losing streak, with both losses coming on home-ice. Brandon fell 3-1 to Saskatoon last Thursday and 6-3 to Swift Current on Friday night, leaving them with six losses in their last eight games. Following today, Brandon will visit Saskatoon Wednesday before hosting the Blades again on Friday night.
- goaltender Curtis Honey (upper body) misses his fifth straight game, meaning Jordan Papirny gets his fifth straight start for Wheat Kings. Papirny had stopped 92 of 100 shots in the first three games of his starting streak but gave up six goals (including a couple he'd like to have back) against Swift Current on Friday night. It'll be interesting to see how he rebounds from that less than stellar start.
- Brandon will also sit D Kord Pankewicz, F Tyler Coulter, F Braylon Shmy rand F Quintin Lisoway today.
- Brandon had a rare opportunity to practice on back-to-back days on Saturday and Sunday in preparation for today's game The Wheat Kings have practiced on consecutive days since before they left on the West Coast road trip back on October 23rd. It'll be interesting to see if that pays dividends today.
- Today's game is the first for former Wheat King Corbin Boes back in Brandon since the Wheat Kings dealt him to Lethbridge in early May. Boes spent three full seasons with Brandon, compiling a 46-45-14 record with a 3.35 GAA and .901 SPCT.
